KIPP Atlanta Collegiate

KIPP Atlanta Collegiate (KAC) serves as a flagship example of rapid, high-impact innovation through immersive learning. Within 30 days, Dr. Muhsinah L. Morris successfully launched SHIFT + KAC in the Metaverse, designing and deploying a fully operational immersive learning program that integrated virtual reality and AI into the school’s instructional ecosystem. KIPP Atlanta Collegiate utilized Dr. Morris’s expertise for professional development in immersive learning and AI, equipping educators with the skills and confidence to implement XR-enabled instruction and AI-supported teaching tools in real classroom contexts. This accelerated launch demonstrated the feasibility of rapid Metaversity implementation in a K–12 charter environment while increasing teacher capacity, student engagement, and future-readiness.

Macon County High School

Over the course of two immersive days, I implemented a customized professional development experience in VR education for the CTE, STEM, and Math faculty at Macon County High School. Using the Meta Quest 3 and VictoryXR platforms, educators were trained to navigate virtual environments, design XR-integrated lessons, and apply culturally responsive pedagogy in immersive spaces. Each session was hands-on, collaborative, and aligned with workforce-ready skills. Since the training, teachers have actively implemented these tools in their classrooms and have already begun to see real-time engagement and performance gains among their students—demonstrating that immersive learning is not just a concept, but a powerful instructional shift happening now.

STEM NOLA

Through my work with STEM NOLA STEM Fellows, I have designed and facilitated a continuum of immersive learning experiences that blend STEM education, forensic science, community problem-solving, and future-ready technology. This partnership began with a five-day intensive, where Fellows were introduced to immersive learning, critical inquiry, and applied STEM through hands-on, inquiry-driven instruction.

Building on that foundation, I led STEM and Forensics in the Metaverse experiences that allowed Fellows to explore real-world forensic science concepts—such as investigation, evidence analysis, and scientific reasoning—inside virtual environments. Using immersive technologies, students were able to move beyond theory and engage in experiential, scenario-based learning that mirrored authentic scientific practice.

A cornerstone of this work was empowering Fellows to design and build their own Metaverse experiences. Students learned how to identify community needs, align solutions with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and prototype immersive environments that addressed real challenges facing their communities. This process integrated STEM content, design thinking, ethical technology use, and civic responsibility—positioning Fellows not just as learners, but as innovators and problem solvers.

Across all engagements, the focus remained on workforce readiness, critical thinking, collaboration, and socially responsible innovation—equipping STEM NOLA Fellows with both the technical skills and the purpose-driven mindset needed to lead in the future of STEM.

CS For ALL

At the CSforALL Milwaukee Summit in October 2025, I delivered the closing keynote, “Unlocking Your Meta-Opportunistic Reality Algorithm™ (Meta ORA™): Navigating the Future of Tech with Purpose and Precision,” where I challenged educators, policymakers, and technologists to rethink how opportunity is identified, cultivated, and scaled in computer science education. I introduced Meta-Opportunistic Reality Algorithm™ (Meta ORA™) as a personalized, purpose-driven framework designed to help individuals and institutions identify their unique strengths, intelligences, and positional advantages in order to strategically navigate emerging technologies such as AI, XR, spatial computing, and the Metaverse. Framed against urgent realities—including teacher shortages, the digital divide, and workforce misalignment—I positioned Meta ORA™ as both a human-centered algorithm and a leadership operating system for educational transformation. I closed by emphasizing that the future of computer science education is not something we simply enter, but something we intentionally design, calling the CSforALL community to upskill educators, expand access, and lead with clarity, precision, and purpose as architects of a more equitable, technologically fluent future.

Catapult PD

At EDUCAUSE, during the closing keynote “Educational Transformation and Restoration Powered by Virtual Reality,” sponsored by 42 Lines on June 10, 2022, I invited educators to confront an urgent truth: restoring joy across the education ecosystem is no longer optional—it is essential. I spoke to the collective fatigue felt by students, teachers, and leaders alike, and challenged the notion that education can thrive when methodologies remain stagnant in a rapidly evolving world. Drawing on my work leading Morehouse in the Metaverse, the world’s first Metaversity, I demonstrated how virtual reality serves as a powerful catalyst for transformation by fully immersing learners in distraction-free, curiosity-driven experiences while simultaneously reigniting fulfillment for instructors. I shared evidence showing increased student satisfaction and improved academic performance through VR-enabled courses, supported by the deployment of hundreds of Meta Quest headsets across campus to power both academic and social learning. I closed by affirming that education is fundamentally about discovery, imagination, and possibility—and that by stepping boldly into immersive learning environments, we can restore joy, differentiate instruction, and prepare learners at every level to thrive in the era of Web3. This moment, I emphasized, is both transformational and restorative—and it is one we must enter together.

Through my work with Catapult, I designed and facilitated a Metaverse Masterclass for Educators focused on Defining Your Own Metaverse Culture, helping education leaders move beyond tools and trends toward intentional, values-driven immersive learning design. In this masterclass, I guided educators through the process of understanding the metaverse as a cultural and pedagogical ecosystem—one that must be shaped by identity, purpose, equity, and institutional context rather than inherited by default. Drawing on my Metaversive Teaching and Learning framework, participants explored how to align immersive technologies such as XR and AI with their school culture, learner needs, leadership values, and long-term vision. The experience empowered educators to see themselves not as passive adopters of emerging technology, but as architects of their own Metaverse Culture, equipped to build immersive learning environments that foster belonging, innovation, and sustainability within their unique educational communities.
